We Are
Resonance
Founded in 2012, Resonance began as a quintet that quickly grew in both size and sound, becoming one of the premier competitive a cappella groups at UCLA. Over the past few years, we have since established ourselves as a vibrant group with a unique sound and a high level of musical excellence.
In 2014 and 2016, Resonance qualified and performed for an audience of 10,000 at UCLA's Spring Sing, the university's largest and most competitive musical showcase. In 2017, our group competed for the first time at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA), placing 2nd at the Southwest Quarterfinal, 3rd at the Southwest Semifinal, and winning awards for Outstanding Arrangement at both competitions. That same year, Resonance recorded our first studio album, In This Light, which is available now on iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify. Since then, we have released three singles, and we have competed annually in ICCA.
In 2018 and 2020 Resonance placed 1st in the ICCA West Quarterfinals, advancing us to Semifinals and winning awards for Outstanding Soloist and Outstanding Arrangement. We didn't let a virtual year slow us down; in early 2021, we placed 1st at the virtual Los Angeles A Cappella Festival (LAAF). Later that year, we placed 1st in the virtual ICCA West Quarterfinal and Semifinal, winning awards for Outstanding Vocal Percussion and Outstanding Mix and advancing us to ICCA Finals.
Resonance returned to the Spring Sing stage in 2022, while also placing 3rd at the ICCA West Quarterfinals in 2022 and 2023. Most recently, we placed 2nd and won Outstanding Arrangement at the 2024 ICCA West Quarterfinals, advancing us once more to Semifinals. We are currently working on our second studio album, our first EP, and a new music video, which we hope to share with you soon!

Guided by our passion for performance and friendship, Resonance strives to make a lasting impact on our community by sharing our music. We can be found performing at a number of philanthropy events, competitions, and concerts across California, the greater Los Angeles area, and on UCLA's campus. We always emphasize togetherness through music, hoping to spread happiness to each-other and those around us.
