Resonance is a competitive a cappella group at UCLA open to people of all voice parts, majors, and walks of life — united by a shared passion for making music that connects and inspires. Since their founding in 2012, they have established themselves as a premier group with a powerful sound, vibrant arrangements, and a high level of musical excellence.

WE ARE RESONANCE
OUR HISTORY
Resonance was founded by five students in 2012 and quickly grew in both size and sound. In 2014 and 2016, they performed at UCLA's renowned musical competition Spring Sing. In 2017, they competed for the first time at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA), advancing to Semifinals and inspiring them to compete every year since. That same year, Resonance won awards for Outstanding Arrangement and recorded and released their first studio album, In This Light.
In 2018 and 2020, Resonance placed 1st in the ICCA West Quarterfinals, advancing to Semifinals and winning awards for Outstanding Soloist and Outstanding Arrangement. Resonance didn't let a pandemic year slow them down; their cover of "Good Thing / Self-Care" won first place at both 2021 ICCA Quarterfinals and Semifinals, taking them to ICCA Finals for the first time in the group's history and collecting awards for Outstanding Mix and Outstanding Vocal Percussion along the way. In 2021, they were crowned champions of the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival (LAAF).

Back in person, they eagerly returned to the Spring Sing and ICCA stages in 2022, and the LAAF stage in 2023. They advanced to ICCA West Semifinals three years in a row from 2024 to 2026, winning awards for Outstanding Arrangement, Outstanding Choreography, and Outstanding Vocal Percussion throughout. Most recently, they served as the host group of LAAF 2026 and were crowned champions of the 2026 ICCA Quarterfinals. They are currently working on their second studio album, a music video, and an EP.
